CARROT HARVEST & HUNGER IN MAINE

HARVEST 2019

During November we have harvested over 5000 lbs of carrots, over 3500 lbs of cabbage and will continue the bulk harvest this week for other products still in the field. We do have a market for all them but I want to do more - I want to have an impact on hunger in Maine. It is getting harder for food pantries to address the demand - they are busier than ever and the heating season brings more families to the pantries.

How do these two things relate - see Penny's Brainstorm and how you can help!

JORDAN'S FARM GROWS FOOD TO FEED THE COMMUNITY!

PURCHASE FRESH PRODUCE FOR FOOD PANTRIES

We have two passions, growing food and finding ways to address food insecurity (hunger) in our community. So when we looked at all of the products we harvested this past week we asked ourselves how can we get these products to the food pantries and soup kitchens. So we thought about asking people to donate to a food fund so we can provide products.

IT'S SIMPLE: just click on this link - A More Secure Food Source For All - and fill out the form, mail a check along to us and we will distribute the food to the designated pantry.

CSA MEMBERS

If you still have a balance on your CSA with Jordan's Farm you can allocate all or a portion of your remaining balance. Just note in the comments section of the form how much you would like to use.
